RECC Principal Tony Lebe has extensive experience in all aspects of the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy infrastructure projects and has structured, negotiated, drafted, and closed over $160 Million of solar energy project funds. He has also represented clients in the purchase and sale of developed energy infrastructure projects, performing thorough due diligence on potential acquisitions to identify risks and take actions to eliminate or mitigate them, and in sourcing debt and equity finance from traditional banks, institutional tax equity investors, high net worth individuals, and large utilities. Tony understands what makes an energy infrastructure project financeable, how to pragmatically resolve the various issues that affect most energy projects, and how to move an energy infrastructure project from development and design, financing, construction, and into successful commercial operation.
He has has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting tax equity and debt agreements, power purchase agreements (“PPAs”), solar renewable energy credit (“SREC”) agreements, participation and development services agreements, real estate purchase and sale and lease agreements, engineering, construction, and procurement (“EPC”) agreements, operation and maintenance (“O&M”) and performance monitoring agreements, in addition to a wide variety of other commercial agreements.
Prior to founding RECC, Tony served as General Counsel to Green Lake Capital, an investment firm focused on developing, owning, and operating renewable energy assets, and as Director of Legal and Regulatory to Tioga Energy, an independent power provider (“IPP”) specializing in financing, developing, owning, and operating solar energy projects owned by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, DFJ Frontier, NGEN Partners, Rockport Capital, and Nth Power. Prior to joining Tioga Energy, he practiced at several boutique law firms where he focused on energy infrastructure project development, environmental, energy efficiency, licensing, real estate and general corporate matters. Tony earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Law School, and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
